Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Idle Hour Studios collects, uses, shares, and retains information in connection with its website, games, and related services, including Descent Defender and future titles, features, and support channels. The information we collect depends on the product, platform, region, and features you use.

Who We Are and Scope

Idle Hour Studios operates this website and develops and publishes games and related services. This policy applies to our website, game applications, account systems, customer support interactions, live-service features, and other related services that link to or reference this policy.

If you have privacy questions or want to make a data-related request, contact dante.carbone@idlehourstudios.com.

The categories of information we may collect or receive include:

  • Account and identity data, such as account IDs, guest account identifiers, linked account details, sign-in records, display names, and authentication-related information.
  • Gameplay, progression, and save data, such as level progress, unlocks, currencies, inventory, event participation, leaderboard results, settings, cloud-save records, and entitlement status.
  • Device, app, network, and technical data, such as device model, operating system, language, region, app version, session timestamps, IP-based or approximate location signals, platform identifiers, and connection or performance information.
  • Purchase and transaction-related data, such as purchase confirmations, subscription status, restore events, promotional grants, refund or revocation status, and records needed to apply or verify entitlements.
  • Advertising and ad-interaction data, if ads or rewarded ads are used, such as ad impressions, reward completion events, campaign or placement information, and identifiers or signals made available by the platform or partner.
  • Support communications, such as your email address, messages, attachments, bug reports, account identifiers, and the information you choose to provide when you contact us.
  • Fraud, security, and abuse-related signals, such as suspicious activity indicators, device or account risk signals, moderation records, and logs used to protect our services, players, and business operations.
  • User-generated or voluntary submissions, such as feedback, survey responses, contest entries, forum or social submissions directed to us, or other content you choose to send through our services or support channels.

How We Collect Information

We may collect information in several ways:

  • Directly from you when you create an account, play a game, contact support, make a request, subscribe to updates, or otherwise interact with us.
  • Automatically through gameplay, website visits, app usage, device interactions, diagnostics, and service logs.
  • From platform providers, app stores, storefronts, payment or billing providers, authentication providers, cloud or backend providers, and other service partners involved in operating the service.
  • From support interactions, fraud reviews, abuse investigations, or dispute-resolution processes.

How We Use Information

We may use information we collect or receive to:

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website, games, and related services.
  • Create, authenticate, manage, and support accounts, guest sessions, linked accounts, and cloud-save functionality.
  • Provide gameplay features, synced progression, leaderboards, events, tournaments, live updates, compensation grants, and other service operations.
  • Process, validate, restore, and administer purchases, subscriptions, grants, rewards, and other entitlements.
  • Respond to customer support requests, troubleshoot issues, and investigate bugs, crashes, and player-reported problems.
  • Analyze usage, game balance, retention, feature performance, and service health.
  • Detect, prevent, investigate, and address fraud, abuse, cheating, unauthorized access, payment issues, and other harmful or unlawful activity.
  • Communicate with you about support matters, policy updates, account matters, operational notices, and other service-related information.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms and policies, resolve disputes, and protect our rights, users, and services.

Analytics

We may use gameplay analytics and usage analytics to understand how players and visitors use our website, games, and features. This may include session activity, progression milestones, feature engagement, retention patterns, storefront or platform interactions, and similar operational metrics. We use this information to improve performance, design, balance, stability, and player support.

Diagnostics and Crash Reporting

We may collect crash reports, error logs, latency or performance data, device or build details, and other diagnostic records to identify service issues, improve reliability, and investigate abuse or technical failures. Diagnostic records may be generated automatically when a service error occurs.

Advertising and Rewarded Ads

If we use advertising, including rewarded ads, we and our advertising or monetization partners may process certain identifiers, device signals, ad interaction data, and reward-completion events needed to deliver, measure, limit, secure, or attribute advertising. The exact data involved can vary by app, platform, jurisdiction, and configuration.

Where platform rules or applicable law require additional disclosures, consent prompts, or permissions for tracking or personalized advertising, those notices may appear in the product or through platform tools. Platform privacy settings and consent tools may also affect how advertising-related data is processed.

Purchases and Payments

Purchases, subscriptions, and other paid transactions may be processed by platform operators, app stores, storefronts, or payment providers rather than directly by Idle Hour Studios. We may receive transaction confirmations, receipt status, product identifiers, subscription status, restore events, chargeback or revocation information, and other records needed to provide entitlements, support customers, and maintain our books and operations.

We do not necessarily receive or store full payment card details when a platform or third-party payment provider processes the transaction.

How We Share Information

We may share information with the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary:

  • Service providers and processors that help us host, operate, maintain, secure, analyze, support, or improve our services.
  • Platform providers, app stores, storefronts, and payment or billing providers involved in account services, purchases, subscriptions, restores, or compliance requirements.
  • Analytics, diagnostics, hosting, authentication, customer-support, advertising, fraud-prevention, and security providers that support service operations.
  • Advisers, auditors, insurers, or professional service providers where reasonably necessary for business, legal, or compliance purposes.
  • Law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties when we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect safety, investigate misconduct, or enforce our rights.
  • Relevant parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards where applicable.

Third-Party Services

Our services may rely on third-party tools and infrastructure such as platform providers, app stores, cloud and backend providers, authentication or account services, analytics and diagnostics providers, advertising and monetization partners, payment and billing services, customer-support tools, and anti-abuse or security providers. We may also use Unity-related services where appropriate to operate game features or supporting systems.

Those third parties may process information under their own terms, privacy notices, and platform rules as well as under instructions they perform for us. Their practices can affect how data is handled within the parts of the service they operate.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including operating our services, maintaining account and progression integrity, providing support, preventing fraud, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, meeting legal or accounting obligations, and preserving legitimate business records. Retention periods vary depending on the type of data and the context in which it was collected.

International Processing

Depending on the service, platform, and providers we use, information may be stored or processed in countries other than your own. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your place of residence. By using the services, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in locations where we or our providers operate, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information appropriate to the nature of the data and the service. No method of transmission, storage, or security control is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children and Age Considerations

Our services are not directed to children below the age at which consent is required under applicable law unless a specific service expressly states otherwise. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us information in a manner that raises concern, contact dante.carbone@idlehourstudios.com and we will review the matter.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent. Some of these rights may be limited by law, technical constraints, security requirements, or the need to protect other users and service integrity.

You may also be able to use platform privacy controls, device settings, ad preferences, or in-product options to manage certain types of data processing.

Account Deletion and Data Deletion Requests

If a product offers account creation, you may request account deletion by contacting dante.carbone@idlehourstudios.com and, where available, by using any designated in-product or web-based deletion request flow. For account deletion request instructions, see Delete Account. We may verify your identity or account ownership before acting on a request.

Deleting an account may remove access to game progress, synced saves, virtual items, entitlements, support history, or other service features associated with that account. In some cases, deleting an account does not necessarily mean every related record can be removed immediately or completely, including records needed for security, fraud prevention, transaction validation, legal compliance, accounting, auditing, chargeback handling, dispute resolution, or enforcement purposes.

Where a service permits guest play, linked accounts, or platform-managed accounts, additional steps may be needed to delete data tied to those systems. Some information may also remain in backups or logs for a limited period before deletion or overwrite as part of normal system operations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our website, games, services, and legal obligations evolve. When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date on this page and may provide additional notice through the service, support channels, or other reasonable means when material changes are involved.
